Meet Pickles. Yesterday, he was just a normal rat hunting for crumbs in a tavern kitchen

Today, he's a sentient spy trapped in a chaotic magical realm called The Void.

Sucked through a mysterious portal, this newly intelligent rat is captured by a giant monster and given a terrifying ultimatum: infiltrate an impenetrable, monster-filled castle to find a missing friend, or be eaten.

Armed with nothing but his newfound abilities to read, write, and plan (and an enchanted quill that sends daily letters directly to you, the mysterious "Reader"), Pickles must outsmart giant tentacle beasts, impossible shadow creatures, and an army of armoured guards.

He has already survived a perilous crossing of the castle moat, but now he has to venture inside and find the dungeon by "following the screams".

Will Pickles survive the horrors inside the fortress? Does he have any hope of surviving the castle and getting back home?
